Course Summaries
Inkjet Academy
Theory of Inkjet Technology
Mon 13 - Tue 14 July 2026
The Inkjet Academy is the ideal introduction to inkjet technology, giving your understanding of the industry an expert start. The course is presented by Dr Mark Bale of DoDxAct and Dr Tim Phillips of Catenary Solutions/IMI Europe.
Fluid Dynamics & Acoustics
HOW INKJET PRINTING REALLY WORKS
Mon 13 - Tue 14 July 2026
This in-depth course couples the characteristics of droplet formation, landing and spreading to the acoustic and fluidic behaviour in the printhead. The course leader is Emeritus Prof Dr Frits Dijksman, University of Twente, Netherlands.
Understanding Piezo Printheads & Drive Waveforms
Printhead operation, testing, and waveform optimisation
Weds 15 - Thu 16 AM July 2026
This new course aims to bridge the gap between the mathematical description of jetting and the practical reality of making industrial piezoelectric drop-on-demand printheads work. Building from the IJA, it concentrates specifically on how printheads are made, how to assess their performance using drop watching and printing, and how to tune that performance for specific needs even when the rulebook says it is not possible.
INKJET INK MANUFACTURING
MANUFACTURING INKS FOR PERFORMANCE & RELIABILITY
Weds 15 - Thu 16 AM July 2026
This course covers inkjet ink design for manufacture, testing and reliability, scale-up for manufacture and manufacturing itself. It also covers ink plant design, required equipment, quality control and commercial considerations. Course leaders are Dr Chris Nicholas of Smart Chemistry and Dr Tim Phillips of Catenary Solutions.
Advanced Inkjet Ink Characterisation
Cutting-edge techniques for formulation, QC and waveform prediction
Thu 16 PM - Fri 17 July 2026
Outline to be announced soon. The course is led by Dr Tri Tuladhar of TriJet.
SURFACE TREATMENT FOR INKJET PRINTING
CORONA & PLASMA TREATMENT FOR OPTIMISING PRINT QUALITY AND DURABILITY
Thu 16 PM - Fri 17 July 2026
This course looks at the surface pre-treatment processes, including plasma and corona treatment, used to prepare the substrate for inkjet printing, leading to enhanced adhesion, print quality and durability. The course is led by Peter van Steenacker from Tigres and further speakers to be announced soon.
