Dr Tim Phillips, Managing Director
Tim is Managing Director of IMI Europe with responsibility for commercial and operational management of the business. Tim is also Founder & Director of technology marketing consultancy Catenary Solutions.
Tim has worked in the industrial inkjet industry since 2007 when he joined Xennia Technology (which was bought by Sensient Imaging Technologies in 2015). Before that he worked in technical, marketing and sales roles in technology areas including liquid crystals, compound semiconductor devices and specialist materials. Tim has an MA Honours degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, a PhD in liquid crystal physics from the University of Bristol and an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Tim is a keen cyclist and also loves films and music.
Amy Vigrass, Conference Manager
Amy is responsible for conference registrations, sales, accounts, event organisation, office management and conference management. She was new to the team in 2016 and is the main contact for people attending IMI Europe events. She is also responsible for planning and general organisation at the events themselves. Amy has a Business Management BSc from the University of East Anglia with a focus on Marketing and Law. She has experience in Administration Management and Personnel Training.
Amy has a keen interest in music, playing both oboe and piano. She also enjoys wildlife photography and playing real tennis.
Mike Willis, Chairman (retired)
Until 2020 Mike was Chairman of IMI Europe, advising on business strategy and event planning as well as chairing conference sessions. Mike co-founded IMI Europe in 1999 with Al Keene of IMI Inc, and was Managing Director until the end of 2015. Mike has now retired from the company and his consulting business Pivotal Resources.
Mike worked in the printing industry for the past 40 years, accumulating considerable experience in a wide range of imaging technologies. Mike was a founder member of Xaar, a company set up to exploit high resolution piezo inkjet technology. Mike began his career at Gestetner Limited, working on a variety of photocopier projects. He graduated from the Polytechnic of Central London in 1976 with a BSc Honours in Photographic Sciences.
