Digital Packaging Printing
Applications, Design, Inks & Integration
Thursday 7 - Friday 8 July, 2022
Novotel Gent Centrum Hotel, Ghent, Belgium
COURSE FOCUS
There is a strong market pull in the packaging industry for the advantages given by digital printing, such as rapid turnaround of new designs, regional variations and personalisation. Take up of digital technology, especially from inkjet, has been limited by technical factors which are now beginning to be overcome, meaning that there has never been a better time to consider this technology for a range of packaging applications.
The course gives an overview of the packaging industry which consists of a number of different applications with very different technical requirements, market dynamics and potential for digital printing. The range of potential inkjet ink types will be reviewed, along with their use in inkjet printheads and systems, and the process requirements in each case. Integration of digital inkjet technology within a production environment will also be considered, as well as the challenges of software and system design to make the inkjet process production compatible.
